My Company's Background

Hi Guys


The company I have been given is called MGM Wireless. It is an Australian company operating in the Information Technology and service industries. Their focus is on being "a pioneer of socially responsible technology-enabled school communications." This is talking about their main product (which they actually invented) an SMS based automated communication system for schools. Currently their main headquarters are in South Australia but over a 1000 schools throughout Australia and New Zealand use their software

The organisation first commenced in 1997 where they were listed as a private company, but in 2003 MGM Wireless was acquired by EzyImage a company already listed on the stock exchange. After the Acquisition EzyImage became MGM Wireless and and MGM wireless was listed on the stock exchange as a public company. Currently their main headquarters are in South Australia but over a 1000 schools throughout Australia and New Zealand use their software

What I find funny is that I have never heard of this company until I started this course and yet throughout high school my family would get text alerts from the school about things like upcoming events. Meaning that the school was using their software or software invented by them. What a small world.
